Jio BlackRock International AMC (IFSC) Private Limited has launched the JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC), an open-ended fund of fund from GIFT City. Business Today reported the launch on 26-10-2026, and the AMC’s website shows the NFO as open.
The opening and closing dates are not announced yet. The offer document says the initial offer period can run up to 12 months, or until USD 1 million is raised, whichever is earlier.
The fund aims for long-term growth by putting 90% to 100% of its money into BlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund, an Irish fund that picks shares from developed markets using computer models. If you want developed-market shares in a dollar fund, it may merit a closer look.

What has the AMC launched?
This is a fund of funds, so it does not buy shares itself. It puts 90% to 100% of its money into BlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (the Master Fund), a sub-fund of BlackRock Funds I ICAV, an Irish vehicle authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland.
The Master Fund keeps at least 70% of its assets in shares of companies based in, listed in or earning most of their business from developed markets. Its manager uses computer models that rank shares on company strength, market sentiment, big economic themes and ESG traits (environmental, social and governance factors).
The scheme picks no shares and has no benchmark. It is priced in US dollars, and no return is assured.

How does this NFO’s strategy work?
Your US dollars go in, and almost all of them flow on to the Master Fund.
Step | What happens? |
1 | You invest at least USD 5,000 in the Direct or Regular Plan. |
2 | Units are issued at USD 100 each, after 0.005% stamp duty. |
3 | The manager puts 90% to 100% into Master Fund units. Up to 10% stays in cash-like holdings. |
4 | The Master Fund’s models rank developed-market shares on fundamentals, sentiment, economic themes and ESG traits. |
5 | The scheme shows two post-tax NAVs. Your holding period decides which one applies when you sell. |
A simple NFO example
Take Meera, a 38-year-old professional in Ahmedabad. She sends USD 5,000 under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme(LRS), the RBI route that lets a resident individual remit up to USD 2,50,000 a year, and picks the Direct Plan.
Stamp duty of 0.005% (USD 0.25) comes off first, leaving USD 4,999.75. At the NFO price of USD 100, she gets about 49.998 units.
Her units then stand for a slice of the pooled money the manager moves into the Master Fund. Selling within 24 months gives her the short-term post-tax NAV, and after 24 months the long-term one.

Portfolio allocation of the fund
Instrument | Allocation (% of NAV) |
Units of BlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (Master Fund) | 90% to 100% |
Overnight, liquid or money market schemes, bank deposits and similar | 0% to 10% |
The cash-like share can go above 10% while new money waits to be invested. If the mix drifts, the manager aims to restore it within 30 calendar days.
Investment strategy and costs
The scheme does no stock picking. It leans on the Master Fund’s models and has no benchmark of its own, which the document says gives the manager room on pooling and allocation. The Master Fund is run against the MSCI World Index and follows its own ESG policy.
On liquidity, redemption money reaches your bank account within 7 Business Days of the valuation day (the day your request is priced). If the Master Fund cannot sell holdings in an orderly way, payment may be late or partial.
The scheme cannot lend. It may borrow only to meet redemptions, up to 20% of assets for six months.
Costs stack up because you pay for both the scheme and the Master Fund. The total expense ratio (TER), the yearly cost of running a fund, is capped at 1.25% (Direct) and 1.75% (Regular) including the Master Fund’s charges. Without them, the caps are 0.85% and 1.35%.
Potential benefits of the NFO
Potential benefit | Why does it matter? |
One fund, many countries | The Master Fund holds companies across developed markets, which gives diversification without you buying abroad. |
US dollar holding | Units are priced in dollars, which may suit dollar goals such as overseas study. |
Rules-based selection | Computer models follow set factors, so choices come from a repeatable process. |
Regular reporting | NAV every Business Day, a monthly holdings report and quarterly portfolio disclosure. |
Who may consider this fund?
Investor type | Why it may fit |
Resident Indian with a dollar goal | A parent saving for overseas education years ahead may want part of the money in dollars. |
Investor adding global shares | It adds developed-market companies next to Indian holdings. |
Long-horizon investor with a lump sum | Anyone with an investment horizon beyond 24 months gets the long-term post-tax NAV on exit. |
Who may not find it suitable?
Investor type | Why it may not fit |
Someone who wants a SIP | SIP and SWP are not offered at present. |
Someone who needs the money within 24 months | Exits in that window use the short-term post-tax NAV (30% tax on gains, against 12.5% long term). |
Someone with under USD 5,000 or no remittance route | The minimum is USD 5,000, paid by dollar wire transfer. |
How does it compare with traditional investment options?
Option | Return potential | Liquidity | Investment horizon | Suitable investor |
Fixed deposit | Fixed rate set at booking | Early exit often allowed, with a penalty | Months to a few years | Wants steady interest |
Debt mutual fund | Moderate, from bond returns | Usually 1 to 3 working days | 1 to 3 years or more | Wants stable returns |
Hybrid fund | Moderate, from an equity and debt mix | Usually 1 to 3 working days | 3 years or more | Wants one balanced fund |
Equity mutual fund | Higher, tied to Indian shares | Usually 1 to 3 working days | 5 years or more | Wants growth in rupees |
This fund | Tied to developed-market shares, in dollars | Paid within 7 Business Days | Beyond 24 months | Wants a dollar holding |
NFO review by Zenith Finserve
This NFO is a simple way to hold developed-market shares in dollars through one scheme. Our reading: it fits a resident Indian with a dollar goal at least five years away, who can stay invested beyond 24 months.
Costs deserve the closest look: up to 1.25% (Direct) or 1.75% (Regular) a year, with no benchmark to measure against. The management entity was set up on 10-01-2026 and calls itself a first-time manager, though its parent runs Indian mutual funds.
In a portfolio, it adds overseas equity to Indian holdings and does not replace them. Before applying, check your LRS room, dollar needs and plan. New to NFOs? Read our NFO guide first.

Frequently asked questions
1. Is JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC) NFO good to invest in?
There is no one answer, and Zenith does not recommend any NFO. This fund suits a specific profile: a dollar goal, a lump sum of at least USD 5,000 and a holding period beyond 24 months. Compare the costs, check your LRS room and match the fund to your plan before you apply.
2. What does JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC) invest in?
It puts 90% to 100% of its assets into units of BlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund, an Irish fund. That fund keeps at least 70% of its assets in shares and equity-linked instruments of developed-market companies. The other 0% to 10% of the scheme sits in cash-like holdings such as overnight or liquid schemes and bank deposits.
3. What is the minimum investment in JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC)?
The first investment must be at least USD 5,000 in both the Direct and Regular Plans, and each later purchase at least USD 1,000. Units cost USD 100 each during the NFO. You pay by wire transfer in US dollars, and stamp duty of 0.005% and bank charges come out of the amount you send.
4. JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund NFO date: when does it open and close?
The dates are not announced yet. The offer document says the initial offer period can run up to 12 months from the day IFSCA, the GIFT City regulator, took the document on record, or until USD 1 million is raised, whichever is earlier. The AMC’s GIFT City website shows the NFO as open, so check it before you apply.
5. Can resident Indians invest in JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC)?
Yes. The offer document lists adult resident Indians among eligible investors, who can invest through the LRS or the Overseas Portfolio Investment route under FEMA. RBI’s FAQ allows a resident individual to remit up to USD 2,50,000 a year, shared across all purposes. Our guide for Indian residents walks through the steps.
6. Is there a SIP in JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC)?
Not at present. The offer document says the AMC may introduce a systematic investment plan (SIP) later, but the facility is currently not available. The same goes for systematic withdrawals and switches. For now, you invest by lump sum purchases.
7. What is the expense ratio of JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC)?
The total expense ratio is capped at 1.25% a year for the Direct Plan and 1.75% for the Regular Plan, including the underlying fund’s costs. Without those costs, the caps are 0.85% and 1.35%. The offer document says the underlying fund’s charges can change, and the scheme’s ratio would then change with them.
8. What is a post-tax NAV, and how does it affect my redemption?
NAV is the price of one unit. This scheme shows two NAVs after providing for tax. If you sell within 24 months of buying, you get the short-term post-tax NAV, which provides for tax at 30% plus surcharge and cess on unrealised gains (profits not yet booked). After 24 months, it is the long-term post-tax NAV, at 12.5% plus surcharge and cess. The offer document says actual rates may differ.
9. How long does a redemption take in JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC)?
The AMC pays redemption money to your registered bank account within 7 Business Days of the valuation day. A request that arrives before the cut-off time is priced that day, and a later one rolls to the next valuation day. If the underlying fund suspends dealing, payment can take longer.
10. Who is the fund manager of JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund (IFSC)?
Keyur Charola manages the GIFT City funds at the AMC. He has over 12 years of experience in equity research and portfolio management, and earlier worked at S&P Global and with two family offices. The AMC calls itself a first-time fund management entity, though its parent runs Indian mutual funds.
11. What is the difference between the Direct and Regular Plans?
Both need USD 5,000 to start. The Direct Plan is for investors who invest without a distributor, and its expense cap is lower (1.25% against 1.75%). The Regular Plan is for investors who go through a distributor, whose fee sits inside the expense ratio. If a Regular Plan form misses the distributor details, the AMC allots Direct Plan units.
12. What happens if the fund does not raise enough money?
The scheme can start investing once USD 1 million comes in, and it must reach USD 3 million within 12 months of IFSCA taking the document on record. If it cannot reach the required minimum amount, the AMC refunds your money, net of applicable expenses and charges, within 15 Business Days of the end of the initial offer period.
