Jio BlackRock Asset Management Private Limited has launched JioBlackRock Income Plus Arbitrage Omni FOF, an open-ended fund of funds. The new fund offer (NFO), the window when a new scheme first sells units, opens on 05-10-2026 and closes on 19-10-2026.
A fund of funds does not buy shares or bonds itself. It buys units of other mutual funds. Here, those are debt-oriented funds and arbitrage funds, and the aim is to generate income.
It is the fund house’s first fund of funds, so there is no track record yet. New to the basics? Read our guide to mutual funds in India.

What has JioBlackRock Mutual Fund launched?
It is an open-ended fund of funds. At least 95% of its money goes into units of other mutual funds: debt-oriented funds and arbitrage funds.
A debt-oriented fund lends to governments and companies by buying bonds and earns interest. An arbitrage fund buys a share in the cash market and sells it in the futures market at a slightly higher price, aiming to pocket that gap.
The objective is to generate income. There is no assurance it will be achieved.
Fund managers actively set the mix. Underlying funds can be active or passive. A passive fund copies an index, like an index fund. We read “Omni” in the category name as the freedom to pick either.
How does the JioBlackRock Income Plus Arbitrage Omni FOF strategy work?
Step | What happens? |
1 | You invest during the NFO at ₹10 per unit. |
2 | Units are allotted after the NFO closes on 19-10-2026. |
3 | Fund managers pick underlying debt-oriented and arbitrage funds. |
4 | 35% to 65% goes to each bucket. Up to 5% stays in short-term instruments. |
5 | Money is deployed within 30 business days of allotment. |
6 | The NAV is worked out daily from the underlying funds’ values, less scheme expenses. |
7 | If the mix drifts outside its limits, managers restore it within SEBI timelines. |
8 | Redemption proceeds are due within three business days. |
A simple example of how this fund of funds works
Say you invest ₹10,000 in the NFO. At ₹10 a unit, you get about 1,000 units, slightly fewer after the 0.005% stamp duty.
The fund does not buy shares or bonds with your money. It might place about half in a debt-oriented fund and half in an arbitrage fund, within the 35% to 65% limits.
Your units stay the same. The NAV moves with the value of those two funds. On redemption, you get units multiplied by that day’s NAV. This shows the process only, not an expected outcome.
Portfolio allocation of JioBlackRock Income Plus Arbitrage Omni FOF
Instrument | Minimum | Maximum |
Units of mutual fund schemes | 95% | 100% |
Debt-oriented funds (active or passive) | 35% | 65% |
Arbitrage funds (active or passive) | 35% | 65% |
Debt and money market instruments | 0% | 5% |
The scheme itself will not buy overseas securities, derivatives or unrated instruments. Underlying funds may hold some of these.
Investment strategy and expense stacking
There is no stock picking. The managers choose funds, not shares. The SID says they will weigh price gaps between the cash and futures markets, the interest rate outlook, credit quality and liquidity. Up to 5% stays in short-term instruments to meet redemptions.
Expenses come in two layers. You pay this scheme’s expenses, estimated at up to 1.85% of daily net assets, plus those inside each underlying fund. SEBI caps what a fund of funds may charge on top of its underlying funds’ weighted average. Check the current expense ratio on the AMC website.
Potential benefits of the fund
Potential benefit | Why does it matter? |
Two fund types in one | You track one NAV instead of two separate funds. |
Income focus | The stated objective is income over a short to medium horizon. |
Low entry point | Lump sum and SIP both start at ₹500. |
No entry or exit load | You pay nothing extra to buy or to leave. |
Systematic facilities | SIP top-up and pause are available. STP and SWP follow after the NFO. |
Things to know before investing
Point | What does it mean? |
Two layers of cost | You bear this scheme’s expenses and those of the underlying funds. |
No assured outcome | The SID says there is no assurance the income objective will be met. |
Fund choice is the managers’ call | Underlying funds are not fixed. Check the monthly portfolio. |
Shared fund managers | A manager here may also manage the underlying schemes. |
New scheme | There is no past performance and no portfolio yet. |
Indirect holdings | Underlying funds can hold instruments, such as derivatives, that this scheme cannot buy directly. |
Who may consider Jio BlackRock Income Plus Arbitrage Omni FOF?
Investor type | Why it may fit |
A saver with a goal a few years away, such as a home down payment | The fund aims for income over a short to medium horizon. |
An investor who likes both debt and arbitrage funds | One scheme holds both, 35% to 65% each. |
A retiree planning regular withdrawals | An SWP from ₹500 follows the NFO. See our SWP advisors page. |
A first-time investor starting small | Lump sum and SIP both start at ₹500. |
Who may not find this fund suitable?
Investor type | Why it may not fit |
A long-term wealth builder wanting equity growth | The scheme holds debt-oriented and arbitrage funds, not growth equity funds. |
Someone wanting a fixed, assured return | Unlike a fixed deposit, there is no assured outcome. |
An investor who wants to pick each underlying fund | Here the fund managers choose. |
A cost-conscious investor wanting one layer of expenses | A fund of funds adds its own expenses on top. |
How does the fund compare with traditional options?
This table compares features. It does not rank the options.
Option | Return potential | Liquidity | Typical horizon | Suitable investor |
Fixed deposit | Fixed rate agreed upfront | Early exit usually allowed, often with a penalty | Fixed term | Wants certainty |
Debt mutual fund | Market-linked income | Redeem on business days | Short to medium | Income seeker |
Hybrid fund | Mix of income and growth | Redeem on business days | Medium | Wants a blend |
Equity mutual fund | Higher growth potential, market-linked | Redeem on business days | Long | Long-term wealth builder |
This new fund | Income focus, not assured | Proceeds in three business days | Short to medium | Wants debt and arbitrage together |

Jio BlackRock Income Plus Arbitrage Omni FOF Review by Zenith Finserve
This fund does one job. It spreads your money between debt-oriented and arbitrage funds and aims to generate income. It fits a goal a few years away, such as a home down payment, where you will not need the money in the next few months.
In a portfolio, it sits on the steady, income side. Equity funds handle long-term growth. This one is not built for that.
Being new, it has no portfolio or history to study. Once monthly portfolios appear, check the underlying funds and the full cost. Judge suitability against your own goals and tax position before investing.
